Facebook Competition!
Posted by Maximillion Cooper / April 17,2010

Last night I put out message on my Facebook and the Gumball 3000 Facebook pages to offer the first person to guess what car I'm going to use on this years Gumball the prizes of the Limited Edition Official Rally jacket;

Tour T-shirt;

Key Ring;

And new Pit-stop baseball cap.

After receiving over 600 guess's so far, I'm amazed that no one has guessed correctly yet. So, if you want the chance to WIN, join the Official Maximillion Cooper Facebook & Gumball 3000 Facebook pages and the first person to post the correct answer will WIN. The correct answer must clearly write the MAKE and MODEL of the car.

And if you don't win, then the good news is that the NEW Rally jacket, Tour T-shirt and Pit-Stop Baseball Cap will all be available in the Gumball webstore on Monday...but with the rally coming up soon they are sure to sell out VERY QUICKLY. Good luck!

Legendary UGK rapper Bun B enters the Gumball!
Posted by Maximillion Cooper / April 16,2010

Great news that rapper Bun B, originally one half of the legendary Southern hip hop duo Underground Kingz (UGK) is taking part in his first Gumball.

UGK were a Grammy Award nominated duo formed in 1987 by the late Pimp C and Bun B from Port Arthur, Texas. They released their first major label album, "Too Hard Too Swallow" in 1992, followed by several other albums charting on the Billboard 200 and top R&B/Hip Hop Album charts, including the self-titled Underground Kingz album which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in August 2007.

The group has also been featured on hit singles by other artists, such as on "Big Pimpin" by Jay Z and Sippin' on Some Surup" by the Three 6 Mafia. They also won the BET Best Video Award for "International Players Anthem" with Outcast in 2007. (You Tube have removed the original video - but listen to the track anyway, it's cool as). After Pimp C died in 2007, Bun B returned to a solo career, and in 2008, he released his second album, II Trill. The first single was "That's Gangsta", and it debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, selling 98,000 copies. Bun B's third album is to be Trill O.G.

Bun B also worked with Dizzee Rascal on "Where Da G's".

And is taking part in the Gumball with Mike Malbon, the guy behind Frank151 from NYC. I'm looking forward to meeting in London in a couple of weeks!

Team Intersection's Custom Renault!
Posted by Maximillion Cooper / April 15,2010

I've been friends with Yorgo Tloupas, the Creative behind Intersection Magazine for several years now, and its been great to work with him and Intersection Magazine on many occasions...as it is undoubtedly the most intellectual, interesting and most creative automobile and fashion publication on the market.

Yorgo has taken part in the Gumball several times, always in something pretty unique and stylish!

This was the Intersection x Eley Kishimoto x Karta Healy trio of electric G-Wizz cars at the start in London in 2007 - complete with fixed gear bikes in the boot!

And this 1973 Porsche 911 RS that belongs to our beautiful Iraqi friend Ragdan complete with luggage and spare fuel strapped to the roof endured the London to Los Angeles route in 2006 with Yorgo and Mark Eley behind the wheel!

I bumped into Yorgo a few weeks ago (check out our "white knights" look!) who told me that the French Edition of Intersection (it's now printed in several language editions) wanted to enter this years Gumball, and so I was introduced to the French Editor, Patrice Meignan.

Sadly, Yorgo has now abandoned his once love of cars due to his addiction to facial hair and fixed gear bicycle polo!

And subsequently Intersection France is now on the grid, with Pat Meignan and Jey Taltaud representing the ONLY French participants in an entry grid with over 30 different nationalities.

Knowing Yorgo and Intersection, there was no way that they'd enter anything "normal", and I was not wrong - as they have just announced that Team Intersection will be using a new and very special Renault Megane Cab Gt Line, complete with artwork by Yorgo, and custom Ruby Helmets to match!

The car is the first produced, and is not yet on sale!

I'm excited to have them on the grid...and you can guarantee that their approach to covering the Gumball on film, online and in the magazine will be unlike anyone else's. You can follow Pat's blogs documenting their Gumball experience on the Colette website, L'Ecurie and of course on Intersectionmagazine.fr's own site.
