Stickering the streets!
Posted by Maximillion Cooper / June 20,2009

I was walking down Portobello Road this morning and looked up to see this Gumball 3000 decal on the market road sign. As you may know there are now thousands of Gumball stickers stuck up all over the world, but the reason I'm posting this one is that its actually one of our very first batch from back in February 1999 when we used silver and blue as our original colours. I can't believe this has stood the test of time! Pretty cool to see.

Seeing this has made me feel generous and happy today I'm gonna give some cool stuff away for free (for a "limited time only") if you can email me or post images on the Gumball or my own Facebook or Twitter pages of you sticking Gumball stickers in some rad or random places like these ones...

Such as on Johnny Knoxville's hoody!

Or Bam's drag car...

Or on an Oldsmobile in Havana...

Or a random old queen...(thats Shane the Legend don't you know!)

Or Bucky Lasek's deck at the X-Games...

Perhaps on your helmet like Six Killer...

...On the Subway...

...Or on the Bonneville Salt Flats sign in Utah...

...Or the dashboard of your car!

Or a Cheeky one on a Cops arse!

You get the idea??? Anyway... with our Autumn/Winter Apparel range about to start dropping limited edition T's every 2 weeks (these shirts are SICK) I'm prepared to give some of these out to the best placed stickers. Oh by the way... you might have to buy some stickers from our webshop first! Then get branding...!

Troops Out!

On my ever going search for new artists work just recently I've been following what London based artist RYCA has been up to...So I arrange to visit his workshop and check out his stuff.

I love all of his iconic 'Star Wars' imagery that he gained notoriety for a couple of years back....

But I have to say that the new 'glass' works are taking things to another level. Really amazing stuff in the flesh...

...and still playing with popular culture and iconic references.

And I love this Mondrivan! You can also take a look at his work on The Scrawl Collective.

I'm now a solid fan...and avid collector, and left happily with an Han Quad and Ona Islam that 'glows in the dark!' RAD stuff.

Cider with Tom and Banksy!
Posted by Maximillion Cooper / June 12,2009

Yesterday I got "the" last minute secret invite from Pest Control inviting me to Banksy's Bristol Museum takeover...

No chance I was going to miss this...so Tom and I made the 3 hour drive down to the West Country to check out what our favourite guerrilla artist has been up to and to drink some cider.

This was his biggest exhibition to date and was 'pulled off' in complete secrecy of Bristol City Council who own and fund the gallery. By managing to work soley with the museum curator, he convinced her to close the museum for 2 days under the guise of it being used for a 'film shoot' whilst he and his crew set to work by replacing many of the museum's regular artefacts!

Banksy said: "This is the first show I've ever done where taxpayers' money is being used to hang my pictures up rather than scrape them off."

These are some of my favourites... including the scary Copper on a Rocking Horse. The Copper looks so lifelike we thought it was a real person!

Cheap air fares...expensive canvass!

The good old days of dogging in the countryside!

Who ate the Lion Tamer?

Running through daisy fields...how sweet!

This is the one I'd love for our new house!

Banksy v Bristol Museum features animatronics, installations and a sensory display and is open to the public until August 31st 2009. Admission is free and I encourage you to take a visit...

...and if you don't like the work you can always get pissed on the local cider and have a kebab from Jason Donervan!

Todays my birthday!
Posted by Maximillion Cooper / June 07,2009

Todays my birthday and Julie and I decide to escape the smog of the city to sunny Brighton beach!

I'm a huge fan of the stencil artists called Hutch who's based in Brighton...

So I go on an eye spy "Hutch" hunt through the lanes and manage to see several amazing pieces...

I love this one...

Here's Johnny!

And Richard Prior!

All his stuff is soooo RAD - many people get his and Banksy's work mixed up...which kinda shows how good he is!

Anyway, with it being my birthday and checking out Hutch's artwork...my mind wandered onto my other "Hutch" passion of the BMX kind!

Later that night I decided to have a quick browse on eBay to for any appealing additions to either my BMX or skateboard collection...and what do you know but there's a NOS (new old stock) 1985 Hutch Trickstar frame and forks up for sale in Hutch "pink". My favourite...and guess what - its now MINE. Now thats a "birthday present"!
