VW GTI (Mustache Edition)

Michael Leighty stopped by the shop this weekend to pick up one of the new 18" mustache die cut stickers we have available.  He was nice enough to send us a pic of his Volkswagen GTI with the new sticker on it. We still have a few left and should be making more in other sizes... Stay tuned....

Rob's 1965 Buick Riviera

Our good friend Rob Benavides from Flying Panther Tattoo came by today to talk about a project that we want to work on together. Of course when he pulled up in front of the shop his car caught my eye. What a beautiful car...

I wish I had the skill and patience to pin stripe. It's one of the many endangered and dying arts of this world. The work done on Rob's car was done by one of the best pin stripers in Cali.. San Diego's own Manual Cisneros

What Would White People Do?

This Saturday night some of the homies got together to go watch monster trucks at the Q!!! I've been a few times as a kid but it's been awhile, so I wasn't aware of it's popularity with the entire east county. It took us an hour to get to the event and find parking and once we finally got there all the ten dollar tickets were gone. So, after a twenty minute deliberation we finally decided to man up and get the twenty seven dollar tickets.

When we got inside we realized that the extra money spent on the tickets were well worth the price of admission.

In between the monster truck races they had a crash up derby race. I wasn't really sure who won but I think I'm going to be investing in one of these cars that I'll be using as my daily driver. How cool would it be to see one of these beat up things rolling down a busy street with 5&A Dime spray painted on the side?

Google Toxic Ink Clothing right now.

Nothing like shooting tee's from an air canon out of the back of a Ford... God Bless America!

I think Travis enjoyed it the most.. Ask everyone around him...

Brian and Patrick came all the way from Murrieta to hang out with us. Thanks to Brian for some of the close up pics.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle monster truck? yeah...why not?

This was the debut of Ironman.. I don't know shit about monster trucks but he was my favorite..

Joe and Cindy and the four other Asian people we brought were the only Asians there...well as far as we could tell.

Grave Digger was the crowd favorite.

And after he broke himself on this crazy jump he won the whole thing..

I'm not really sure how the judging works but I'm going to guess it's similar to wrestling, where the winner has already been decided back stage... It was still cool as shit to see these big trucks chuck themselves all night...

In conclusion the night was a success and I'm defiantly going next year.. Let's plan now, who's coming with?

Posted by JayDread @ 5&A Dime  / December 10,2009

Our new Zoo x 5&A Dime boards came in this weekend. They were supposed to part of a lumberjack flannel/skateboard collaboration but the box of flannels are currently MIA. We thought we should release the boards for the holiday season while we try to locate the missing flannel package. The boards are all 8" and are limited to only 50. Click HERE to buy one now.
